With the Keryflex nail restoration system, we can provide you with a flexible yet durable artificial nail. Crafted from resin, it looks just like a real toenail, and can be filed, shaped and polished if desired. It is intended for people who have unsightly toenails, either due to a fungal infection or other concerns. It can be applied without compromising the treatment process for underlying nail concerns.
How Does Keryflex Nail Restoration Work?
Applying KeryFlex involves a three-step process. First, Dr. Jason Wilks applies a bonding agent to the nail so that the Keryflex nail can remain in place. This agent creates a barrier between your artificial and real nail, allowing treatment for fungal infections to continue without interruption. Next, we apply the artificial nail, available in three different colors to create a great match for your skin tone. Finally, we harden the nail with a UV light, completing the application process and leaving you with the look of a healthy, natural nail.
Who Can Choose This Treatment Option?
The Keryflex nail is strong yet flexible, meaning it can stand up to intense physical activities like running and competitive athletics. It's also fine to get pedicures with this artificial nail. But if you have diabetic neuropathy, vascular or arterial disease, or deal with chronic ingrown toenails, this nail restoration system is not for you. You may also need to avoid Keryflex if you are pregnant or nursing. But if you don't have counter indications, and you're tired of hiding your ugly, crumbling toenails, come in to the office and ask us about restoring the healthy appearance of your nails with a Keryflex application!
